Field Trip to Carol Clark’s Farm

There is a field trip planned for Sunday, May 14, 2017, to Carol Clark's farm, located east of Gainesville.  Meet at noon, in the BRIT parking lot, near the Trail Drive gate, at the 12 x 12 shelter with the blue roof.  We will organize car pools at this time.  Take I-35 north to Gainesville, and take Hwy 82 east.  We will stop in Gainesville for lunch and bathroom break.  There are no public bathrooms at the destination.  After lunch, take 82 east, past Oak Ridge, and turn left on FM 678.  Follow 678 north, through Callisburg, and look for the Vilott Baptist Church.  Continue on north, for about 400 yards, to 15493 FM 678, our destination. We expect to arrive at the farm between 2 and 2:30 pm.  Carol will guide us through the prairie, where we expect to see a good number of the 350 native plants that live on this property.  There is an open barn with several lawn chairs for anyone who needs to sit down and take a break.  Please bring a hat for shade!  A map of the local roads around Callisburg has been prepared and will be handed out at the meet up in Fort Worth.

I hope to see you there, Eric Johnson, Field Trip Committee Chairperson
